NurseryCongratulations!

Preparing for the birth of your child is an exciting experience.

Hunt Regional Medical Center is pleased to share this event with your family. We've had plenty of practice - more than 1,000 babies are born at PHG every year.

Our skilled, caring staff, pre-natal classes, and family-friendly maternity center are designed to welcome your newest family member with a safe, relaxed arrival.

The Truett & Margaret Crim Maternity Center includes 6 private labor/delivery/recovery suites with private baths. These attractive, comfortable suites are equipped with TVs.

The Crim Center's 2 state-of-the art operating suites handle Caesarian deliveries. The newborn nurseries include a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the latest infant security system to protect your baby's safety (and your peace of mind) during your stay.

The Maternity Center is named for Dr. & Mrs. Truett Crim. Dr. Crim delivered more than 7,000 babies in Greenville hospitals and in home deliveries throughout the community. His wife Margaret presented an inscribed New Testament to each new mother for her newborn child.

Maternity Center Nursing Staff

Experienced nurses who will be at your side throughout your labor and delivery. When you arrive at the Maternity Center you will be greeted by experienced nurses who will be at your side throughout your labor and delivery. Our Registered Nurses have chosen obstetrics as their field of specialization, receiving special training to care for you during your baby's birth. All are trained in Neonatal CPR.

During your stay in one of our post-delivery suites, our nurses will assist you in caring for your newborn. Parents have unlimited access to the nursery.

Infant Security

The Maternity Center uses the Prosec Security System to ensure infant safety. The system sounds an alarm and automatically locks all exits if a baby is taken close to any of the exits.

Other security measures:

  • Each infant's hospital bracelet matches bracelets worn by the baby's parents. An infant is not released to any adult not wearing the proper bracelet.
  • An ID photo is taken of each infant shortly after birth. Newborn photos are stored for several months.
  • Infants are required to remain in cribs when new parents walk their babies in the halls.
  • Maternity Center staff is readily identifiable - they wear customized ID tags not duplicated in other hospital departments.
