Truett & Margaret Crim Maternity Center
Congratulations!
Preparing for the birth of your child is an exciting
experience.
Hunt Regional Medical Center is pleased to share this event with
your family. We've had plenty of practice - more than 1,000 babies
are born at PHG every year.
Our skilled, caring staff, pre-natal
classes, and family-friendly maternity center are designed
to welcome your newest family member with a safe, relaxed arrival.
The Truett & Margaret Crim Maternity Center includes 6 private
labor/delivery/recovery suites with private baths. These attractive,
comfortable suites are equipped with TVs.
Each
of our 13 pleasant private post-delivery rooms includes a sleep
chair (for dad!), TV, private bath, and ample room for baby.
The Crim Center's 2 state-of-the art operating suites handle Caesarian
deliveries. The newborn nurseries include a Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit and the latest infant
security system to protect your baby's safety (and your peace
of mind) during your stay.
The Maternity Center is named for Dr. & Mrs. Truett Crim. Dr.
Crim delivered more than 7,000 babies in Greenville hospitals and
in home deliveries throughout the community. His wife Margaret presented
an inscribed New Testament to each new mother for her newborn child.
The
Crim Maternity Center is on the 3rd Floor of Hunt Regional Medical
Center's Medical Pavilion. To reach the center, enter the Pavilion
on the south side of the hospital and take the elevator to the 3rd
floor.
Tours of the Maternity Center are included in pre-natal classes.
You may also arrange a tour by contacting the Development
& Communications Department at 903-408-1064.
We're looking forward to caring for you and your family. Thank
you for choosing Hunt Regional Medical Center's Crim Maternity Center
to assist in welcoming your new baby.

Pre-Admission Registration
Before your baby is due, you will complete your Hunt Regional Medical
Center pre-admission forms. Completing the paperwork ahead of time
allows you to go directly to the birthing center when you arrive
for delivery.
Maternity Center Nursing Staff
When
you arrive at the Maternity Center you will be greeted by experienced
nurses who will be at your side throughout your labor and delivery.
Our Registered Nurses have chosen obstetrics as their field of
specialization, receiving special training to care for you during
your baby's birth. All are trained in Neonatal CPR.
During your stay in one of our post-delivery suites, our nurses
will assist you in caring for your newborn. Parents have unlimited
access to the nursery.
Infant Security
The Maternity Center uses the Prosec Security System
to ensure infant safety. The system sounds an alarm and automatically
locks all exits if a baby is taken close to any of the exits.
Other security measures:
-
Each infant's hospital bracelet matches bracelets
worn by the baby's parents. An infant is not released to any
adult not wearing the proper bracelet.
-
An ID photo is taken of each infant shortly
after birth. Newborn photos are stored for several months.
-
Infants are required to remain in cribs when
new parents walk their babies in the halls.
-
Maternity Center staff is readily identifiable
- they wear customized ID tags not duplicated in other hospital
departments.
Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery
If your baby is born prematurely or has other special needs, Hunt
Regional Medical Center of Greenville's Level II Neonatal Intensive
Care Nursery provides both the advanced technology and expert staff
needed to care for your baby.
Complimentary Meal/Snack Service
New fathers are treated to a complimentary dinner. Afternoon and
evening snacks are offered for new mothers. Other family members
and friends are invited to share a meal in the hospital
cafeteria.
